I am a Los Angeles based multi-media artist. I live in Frazier Park, a mountain community north of Santa Clarita, with my dogs and ducks, where I work in my studio basement. I grew up in Bakersfield, California where I now work as an educational psychologist for a high school. I began painting in 2019 but focused on my experimental electronic music projects for which I had dedicated most of my free time for the past 15 years, but recently came to prioritize fine art. Despite my career and doctoral studies, I am quite prolific, having painted over 50 paintings in 2021 alone.

My New York School, Washington Color School, and San Francisco beat era influences are readily identifiable in my work, despite my blending them together. Mark Rothko, Ellsworth Kelly, Robert Motherwell, and Hans Hofmann are my greatest artist influences, though many other artists have contributed to the development of my process which often involves working on several pieces simultaneously that utilize hard-edge as well as painterly techniques. I value experimentation over cohesiveness, I am interested in religion, philosophy, mythology, technology, and the psychology of art, and I am inspired by modern, post-minimalist, and futuristic aesthetics. Although I didn't attend art school, I hold a Masters degree in school psychology and am working on my PhD in psychology.

Having begun my career as an artist during Covid, I have not yet had the opportunity to exhibit my work. My primary short term professional goals are to begin to regularly exhibit my work and, ultimately, to be represented by a well respected gallery in order to have a consistent outlet for my art. I also plan to exhibit installations, and have already completed a self-financed project consisting of 39 individual canvases. I have applied for several shows in Southern California for early 2022, including The Other Art Fair.

Other influences (in no particular order) include: Agnes Martin, Barnett Newman, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Willem DeKooning, Helen Frankenthaler, Jackson Pollock, Helma af Klint, Gerhard Richter, Frank Stella, Franz Kline, Yves Klein, Kenneth Noland, Clyfford Still, Lee Krasner, Cy Twombly, Piet Mondrian, Donald Judd, Jasper Johns, Ad Reinhardt
