Ex Nihilo Panton
From Nothing, Everything
I am interested in metaphysical questions of the beginning of existence. The title of this work is made to evoke the same types of feelings as the works in this series, not to describe the pictures work itself, which consists of pure abstractions made from bright and fully saturated layers of color. In this series, painterly aspects are minimized; the canvas is built up with 6 or 7 layers of primer to allow me to apply a smooth application of paint without showing much of my hand in the process and finished with high gloss varnish to attenuate the bright, saturated hues.
